GUILTY FOR GILT

Some very exciting news my Louisville friends! Gilt, a website FULL of designer discounted goodies for men, women and kids is having a, "pop up" store location!!! From what I have read, when Gilt does have a pop up store it is typically only a few days. Well, the one here in Louisville is going to be open for ONE MONTH! Eeek! For a nano second I debated on blogging about this because I wanted to keep this gem to myself. But after my nano second of evil-good-deal-hiding-thoughts, I snapped out of it and said heck no, I'm telling EVERYONE! It opens June 28. :)

Yummy dinner last night. Spinach, feta, almond slivers, purple onion, shredded turkey, tomato, craisins, balsamic vinaigrette and a side of seasoned fresh green beans. Topped this beauty of a meal off with some Dove Dark Chocolate. My fav!

And as for tonight? The hubs and I had one of our favorites: Chicken and rice! It is one of the recipes off the Campbell's Cream of Mushroom can, and it is SO yummy! Paired with Salad and some of those left over green beans. And no, we do not eat perfectly prepared and perfectly plated meals every night. The hubs is typically used to a sandwich or some cereal, ha!! Especially when I'm working 12 hour shifts!

Now on to that amazing family photo shoot we had on our 3 year anniversary! We had the wonderful, Brittany Bowen, come to our home and it was SO much fun! I have dreamed of doing a in-home photo session and it finally became a reality. Brittany is one of my fab coworkers' daughters and is taking her love for photography and making it her living. After checking out some of Brittany's work, I knew I needed to jump on the opportunity before she got too busy! And it was by chance that our anniversary happened to be a good day for us and for Brittany, so we got some nice shots of us with some of our wedding mementos as well. Here are some of my favorites!!

Cheers to three years!

MET GALA LOVE

First things first. Three words: Met Gala Fashion. The theme this year, as declared by Anna Wintour herself, was punk. Most of the looks were, eh, so so, but these few really stood out to me. What do you think?!

source

While these celebs were living it up in NYC at The Met, I was living my normal, not 24-7 glamour, life. Ha! I did manage to squeeze in some R&R though! Got my hair trimmed at my beloved Omagi Salon by the fabulous Kristin and picked up a couple items before I left. Damage remedy for my hair and fun summery lip gloss that just so happened to match my recent nail polish purchase. Love!

This polish may look a little pink in the pic, but it is coral all.the.way! It is actually called Coral Reef!

I enjoyed this lovely glass of Chardonnay while the hubs started a grease fire in our grill grilled up some steak, salmon and potatoes. Mmm...

Charlie and Winston loving the outdoors, and the potential prospect of food falling on the ground for them to scoop up!

Actually, Winston is equally concerned with patrolling the backyard for any unwanted creatures. He really does think he is a 100lb dog. Sorry to burst his bubble, but his 5lb frame is a far cry from what he thinks he is. ha! They both have hearts bigger than imaginable though. Love my boys!

O'Charly's take-out for tonight, paired with this...

Yumm...

And lastly, a couple things to bring on the LOL's. In case you live under a rock, or don't come from/live in a city that loves hockey, the St. Louis Blues are in the playoffs and are in need of a come-back rally! Any St. Louis Cardinal's fan knows that we are not strangers to making HUGE comebacks in times of despair.

And secondly, we think Winston licked a light socket or something! ha!

Happy Friday!!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Could it be? Is Spring officially here?!?! The weather is AH-mazing today, my dog children do NOT want to come back inside and the birds are chirping. You know what this calls for? A  nice sweat sess outside! Thinking of hitting up the park for a nice easy run. You know I've been starving for some nice weather when running sounds like music to my ears. Not that I hate running, but more than not it requires a bit of mental motivational speaking. Ha!

My handsome boys... melt my heart :)

I slept in today and made myself a nice pre-run breakfast. Glass of H2O, orange and microwave eggs. This one is going to require some digestion time, which is fine because I have a few things (like blogging!) to get done before I go. If I were short on time a meal bar or a small amount of oats would be my go to choice. The microwave eggs are super easy and super fast! One whole egg, two egg whites, splash of milk, some pepper and a little bit of feta. Whisk in your bowl and place straight in the microwave. I cook it for about 45 seconds at first, keeping an eye on it (sometimes they explode) and just open the door, take a peak and add a little time until I feel enough of the liquid is gone. SO yummy.

Some other eats from the week:

Organic dark chocolate yogurt, splash of organic granola cereal, and a chopped up apple. YUM!

Homemade Chai Latte and a yummy salad. Spinach, feta, almond slivers, orange, craisins and raspberry vinaigrette. Boom.

Some looks for Spring! YAY!

AND THEN THERE WAS..

And then there was light not blurry words...

Hey Hey! Well, today has been eventful. After years in the making, I finally made my way to the eye doctor to see if I needed what kind of glasses/contacts I would need. My mom wears glasses and contacts and my Dad wears glasses, so I knew that there was a high probability that I would one day need them. But, none of my siblings have them...yet. Not fair, I'm the youngest! Oh well!

Thankfully, though, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. After a few different exams and an undisclosed amount of money, I am now the proud owner of contacts and glasses. I didn't actually get to take my glasses home with me (bummer- seriously, I want them now!) because the type of lens I needed was unavailable.

So, in true MaryBeth style, this has become an opportunity for a fashion moment. Check em out!

Bebe

They are by Bebe and are super cute! I was also super stoked when I got home and looked them up on the store's website; best sellers list, baby! Some of the styles were just too overwhelming for my face and this pair was just right. I tried so hard to make the Michael Kors glasses look good on me, and the selection that this particular store had just wasn't cutting it. Not that they weren't cute, they were just too much for my face. Maybe once I get used to actually wearing glasses I'll branch out more, but I have a feeling I'm going to be more of a simple glasses/mostly contacts kind of girl. Who knows! And, of course I'll have some pics to share once I get these bad boys in my possession.

This pretty much sums up Winston's excitement over my glasses.. he just wants me to stop typing and to play with him! Such a heart melter...

One more from NYE, and I'm out!

Have a great day!

[VICTORIA'S] SECRET SANTA

Hey Hey!! So, being the fanatic holiday decorator that I am, it comes as no surprise that today I came across something (well, two things) that I could.not.pass.up. Plus, there are a couple things I forgot to share yesterday. Ch-ch-check it out!

Guess who these are for?!? Their stocking holders were white stars, but when I decided to take a random aisle at the grocery (never a good idea..) I felt it was fate. So stinkin' cute! Charlie and Winston love them! ;)

I have these glitter-fied clothes pins hanging from twine above one of our doorways to hold Holiday cards. The silver and white ones I bought at Michael's in the wedding stuff aisle and the smaller dark and light gold ones I made myself. Not hard at all and super cute! All the supplies came from Michael's and it is pretty straight forward: clothes pins, glue and glitter. Boom.

I have two of these green bows hanging from our double front doors. So pretty!! Also from Michael's, last year. Luckily, they are carrying them again and they also come in a few color choices.

Last Sunday I rocked one of my newest purchases via Target clearance (love). These bad boys were, drum roll please..... $11. I wore some skinny jeans with them. Tough and feminine, all at once!

This past weekend was nice and relaxing. Friday we went out to dinner and then had some drinks at my sister-in-law's house. Then, on Saturday we stayed in (I had to work Sunday) and watched three straight episodes of, "Storytellers". AH-mazing. Taylor Swift, Pink and Alicia Keys. I am a sucker for any live music. I get mesmerized. I also love hearing the back-stories on some of my favorite songs! I do have to say, Pink is a bad ass and I promptly went to Itunes and downloaded her new CD. SO GOOD. love!

What I wore Friday:

That morning I went to a Spinning class, which, by the way, is an awesome workout. I love it sooo much. And, it has been way kinder to my body than all the running I had been doing. My feet, ankles and knees don't hurt like they used to ever since I started incorporating spin into my workout regimen. The capris were a random find from TJ Maxx. I really like them for spinning, but the one time I tried to run in them they continued to fall down. ANNOYING. The zip-up, hooded, thumb hole jacket is from Gap. My sister, Holly, and I both got one during our Branson, MO vacay. This jacket is the bomb. I am obsessed and totally bummed that I didn't buy both colors. It looks like a Lululemon, which can be pretty darn expensive. I think ours were on sale for like $19 or something. Wayyy better than the $80-100 jackets at Lululemon!!!

Spin Class Outfit

Rocking my bunmaker again (told you it would become a go-to look) and some Stella & Dot jewels.

Forever21 cardigan, Target top, Lauren Conrad for Kohl's skinny jeans, and my beloved above-the-knee stilettos from Charlotte Russe, in tan. Love!

Stella&Dot
Contessa Jade Necklace

Today I hit up Victoria's Secret so I could use my Secret Rewards cards before they expired. And, as luck would have it, I found this cute tank on the clearance rack, and all the PINK Collegiate Collection was 40% off. I was able to use my cards and get an additional $10 off each item. Yay! I NEVER get anything above $10 off. It can be $10, $50 or $500. The other day I stopped in, but didn't purchase anything at that time, and heard the workers there talking about how earlier that day a girl redeemed a $500 card!!!! They were all freaking out about it (as would I!).

This is one of those SUPER slouchy tanks. I had to do some strategic placing of it before I snapped this pic. Ha! I figure I will wear it with one of those solid colored cropped bustier/bra looking things. I have one in solid black and one in leopard from Charlotte Russe. I'll share pics later this week. I like that this can either be dressed down or up. I'll have to play around with it and see. (sale $16-$10= SIX BUCKS)

SEQUINS! :)

Collegiate sweat shirt top, and some "boyfriend" sweats. Love! Without the 40% off and $10 reward card, not sure I would have gotten the pants. It is just hard sometimes to pay what these originally cost. They are cute and all, but they are sweatpants for crying out loud! These ones at least have a decent thickness to them. For the deal I got, I'm lovin' em!!

I totally lucked out that both my "teams" are the "Cardinals", and obviously both are Red. :)

Have a great week ahead!! Christmas is almost here!!!

xoxo MaryBeth
