SEQUINS AND SPARKLES, OH MY!

Not many things are better than sparkles and sequins. And not may things are better than comfy pants covered in sequins. Hence, exhibit A:

I mentioned these beauties on the blog a little while back and at the time I knew they were not going to stick around very long! And, surprise surprise, they are sold out at this current time. Don't fret though, because Forever 21 is usually very good about restocking in-demand items. Fingers crossed!

This flowy, comfortable and appropriately sexy tank is by Mossimo for Target and is actually on sale now! I got mine for $19.99 but it is currently $13.99 and also comes in the color, "serene peach". Check it out here! I promise you won't regret this one! It is hard to see in my pic, but it has very pretty lace accents. Love! Perfect on its own or paired with a blazer, this is chic and affordable!

And lastly, those heels. Oh, those heels. I recently got these on a shopping trip with my family (I may have gotten them in nude too.. whoops!) because I was sick of seeing EVERYONE wearing these strappy heels except me! They are so damn cute and extremely versatile! These bad boys are from Versona and are only.... drumroll please... $24.99! Score! Hit up your local Versona if you have one and get these!

Have a great weekend! We are headed to The Nutcracker tonight :)  Lots of sparkle, lots of tulle and lots of fantasies of being a ballerina will commence tonight!

A NOD TO SPRING

Call me psychic if you will, but Saturday night I was yearning for some shorts- and now look at the weather! It was a high in the 70's today! Ok, I'm not really psychic. And yes, I need to make that clear just in case you believed me... I mean, the weather was nice on Saturday too but not like today. I just needed to break out of the pants for a second. And now I will call myself out on the blog for you because I know the temps are going to PLUMMET tomorrow. UGH!!

Anyways, back to my hopeful-for-Spring-weather attitude.

The hubs and I went out for food, drinks and to cheer on the Louisville Cardinals basketball team (Defending National Champions, baby!). I rocked my red lips, red heels and team jewelry: some blinged out UofL earrings and matching ring. Love! I did manage to sneak some Stella & Dot in there ;)

We had a blast! We actually ended up having a foodie adventure throughout the city. We started downtown at BBC (Bluegrass Brewing Company) for the game, lunch and drinks. Left downtown and hit up a coffee joint for a cup of joe. Then went to a fab restaurant (Bourbon Bistro) on Frankfurt Ave for an appetizer and a drink. After that we had dinner at one of my FAVORITE places, Martini's. And finally, another favorite spot of mine, Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen, for dessert. PHEW! Talk about a day of food! It was glutinous for sure, and we loved every minute of it! Sometimes the most impromptu evenings are the best.

Tank, shorts AND heels all by Mossimo for Target. Total accident, just sort of happened that way! And amazingly enough, the tights are from Tar-jey, too! The brand is "Assets" and are the ONLY tights I will purchase (well, for now).

I'm sure you are sick of seeing these two bracelets but.... too bad. Love 'em!

Faux leather jacket to top it off.

And more S&D: On The Mark Necklace

And lastly, a colored lip is quit the commitment: shit gets everywhere!! If I'm rocking a bold lip I always carry the following with me in my purse: the lipstick, matching lip pencil, q-tips and concealer. I'm pretty easy going, but if that lipstick gets on my face (especially the red) it would be impossible to fix without some special tools ;)

SUNBUTTER LUVIN

Time for sleep but while we watch the end of the Cardinal's game from bed I figured I'd share a little of my day. This was my morning, mmm... Kashi cereal, almond milk and coffee with all natural creamer and some stevia. I love mornings when there is no workout on the agenda and I can just wake up and relax...

While enjoying my breakfast and perusing the ads, I was excited to see that the Mossimo shorts from Target that I mentioned yesterday and LOVE are on sale for $15!

After a boat load of errands and work around the front and back yards, the hubs and I are exhausted!! I snagged him a hot sandwich and chips from Earth Fare and I made myself some eggs and a sweet potato. We also shared some watermelon and pineapple. Mmmm... The hubs may or may not have gone for an ice cream run too... :)

Made my beloved overnight oats so they will be ready for devouring in the AM. Decided to try this stuff out because I see it a lot in the blog world. Verdict: YUUUMMMYY!! Now I really can't wait to eat my oats in the morning!

Last night the hubs and I grilled out (we tend to do that a lot!) and chilled. My look for the night was comfy and wild! Love me some animal print. Kind of tacky but hey, a little tacky never hurt anybody!! LOVE! I also convinced him to watch the last of the Twilight series because I hadn't seen it yet. Well, when I say I convinced him that really means that I said, "Ok, can we watch either my DVR'd episode of Rachel Zoe or the Twilight movie?". Great options for him, huh?! Verdict on the movie: terrible. But, that is what I was expecting. Glad to finally have that series of books and movies under my belt and over with. lol

Gotta work in the AM.

Good Night!

SUNNY [AND COLD] SATURDAY

Hey Hey!! Just got done with a nice "Body Pump" class and now I'm sippin' some coffee waiting on the weather to warm up so I can get back to my gardening! Good news over here: our flowers didn't die over night!! The hubs did have some frost on his windshield so I am very glad we decided to cover them and bring the hanging baskets in to the garage. You might ask why the hubs has frost on his car when we have a garage? Well, we are those people that have a garage and fill it with tools and scraps. Is this my idea or liking...no. Ha! It is organized, we just don't park in it. Silly, I know. But, I am a city girl and never had a garage until this home so it really doesn't bother me too much. I'm just thankful for a driveway! And whenever I get the opportunity to parallel park somewhere I get so happy!! I miss it and I love the challenge. Yup, I'm a city girl ;)

Work out gear this AM: half zip pullover and below knee pants by Champion for Target and tank from Kohl's. The glorious top knot made an appearance again. If you aren't a fan of my top knot, sorry.

Body Pump was great today. My legs were tired from the past few days and I was due for a mostly upper body workout. The class does incorporate some squats and lunges but nothing too major. My arms on the other hand are sore! The instructor is an older woman (not sure on age) and she made the comment last class that she can tell that people that are new to her classes get disappointed when they see her come in the room because of her age. Well, let me tell you, she will kick your ass and smile while she is doing it. Lesson of the day: Age ain't nothin' but a number! She is an inspiration!

Breakfast was light and easy. Luna Bar released a new flavor: Carrot Cake!! It is yummy! I found out about this when I was reading Healthy Diva Life the other day and have been on a mission since then to find them. Target did!

Another thing I found at Target the other day was a Parable Gurung for Target top, on clearance, for $10. Score! The link shows a sale of $24, but in store it is the price I got. And they also had my beloved shorts there. I am weird about shorts and never wore them a whole lot in the past, but once I came across these a couple years ago I fell in love. Each year they release more colors so I like to stock up little by little. They are always the same style, which makes me happy. I don't have to try them on, just grab my size and go! This year I snagged them in brownish-khaki and teal blue. Love!

I now have these in black, white, royal/purplish blue, dark fuchsia, khaki and teal. Phew!! Let me remind you, I did not buy these all at once!! Thankfully Target brings them back every year!

Target $17.99

Well, time to get to the backyard! Have a great Saturday!! Anyone going to Thunder Over Louisville?? We aren't, but it is always exciting!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Could it be? Is Spring officially here?!?! The weather is AH-mazing today, my dog children do NOT want to come back inside and the birds are chirping. You know what this calls for? A  nice sweat sess outside! Thinking of hitting up the park for a nice easy run. You know I've been starving for some nice weather when running sounds like music to my ears. Not that I hate running, but more than not it requires a bit of mental motivational speaking. Ha!

My handsome boys... melt my heart :)

I slept in today and made myself a nice pre-run breakfast. Glass of H2O, orange and microwave eggs. This one is going to require some digestion time, which is fine because I have a few things (like blogging!) to get done before I go. If I were short on time a meal bar or a small amount of oats would be my go to choice. The microwave eggs are super easy and super fast! One whole egg, two egg whites, splash of milk, some pepper and a little bit of feta. Whisk in your bowl and place straight in the microwave. I cook it for about 45 seconds at first, keeping an eye on it (sometimes they explode) and just open the door, take a peak and add a little time until I feel enough of the liquid is gone. SO yummy.

Some other eats from the week:

Organic dark chocolate yogurt, splash of organic granola cereal, and a chopped up apple. YUM!

Homemade Chai Latte and a yummy salad. Spinach, feta, almond slivers, orange, craisins and raspberry vinaigrette. Boom.

Some looks for Spring! YAY!
