FLOWERS, FASHION & FRIDAY

First and foremost, I still cannot believe what happened at the Boston Marathon- so senseless and inhumane. It is scary that people capable of such things exist in our world. The things I blog about seem so trivial when an event like that is fresh on every one's mind, but nonetheless, I will blog away true to form.

Happy Friday!  I was going through my pics so I could fill everyone in on what I have been up to this week (haven't blogged since last Friday...eek! Bad blogger, bad..) and have noticed a trend....

Apparently, I really like overnight oats!! And the best overnight oats of all are the ones that take up the last of the nut butter jar... Mmmmmmm!

The hubs and I went to one of my bestie's house for a cookout last weekend, and I rocked some denim and some stella. Love!

Denim top from Target, faux leather pants by Rock & Republic for Kohl's, blue heels by Candie's for Kohl's, Bahari Necklace by Stella & Dot, Emerson Bangle by Stella & Dot and the Christina Link Bracelet by Stella & Dot. Love!

Fox Ring sold out

With the fabulous weather this week (aside from today, boo), I was able to get a couple runs in at the park and also threw in a couple classes at the gym. Top knot is a standard hairstyle of mine. Yes, it is true, I don't run around every day in heels and my hair and makeup perfectly done. :)

And another top knot...

This AM was a spin class. Gosh, I love spin!! (being totally serious...seriously). Definitely too cold today, for me at least, to work out outside. This Gap hooded zip-up is one of my absolute favorite jackets. My sister and I got them at a Gap outlet and I am so mad at myself for not getting it in both colors. Such is life!

This past weekend we got a lot of landscaping done. Such a tough job, but also very rewarding. And the nice thing is that every year it gets easier and easier because we have been adding things little by little. We transplanted our Asiatic Lilies to a more optimal area of our backyard and digging them up was like Christmas. There were SO MANY bulbs, big and small, under the ground. These suckers spread a lot! I'm pretty sure I was quoted saying, "OMG nature is sooo cool". Nerd alert!! But it is SO cool! Now we have a ton of these lilies, and at the price of $0.  Love!

Also purchased a few new ones to add to our collection. We bought these ones before I realized how many bulbs had been produced. But, we probably would have still gotten them anyways because we wanted some that were fully mature for an instant effect.

Some new Annuals for out hanging baskets. Pretty!

Gorg!

Needed some plants for the inside too! Notice my hummingbird feeder in the background? This is my first time having one, so hopefully they find it!

All the outdoorsness wore Charlie out. When I took this pic Winston was probably still running circles in the backyard. Ha!! Charlie is a little more... dainty.

Yesterday we added a few more to our flower bed (pics to come) and it is crazy to think that I was in shorts and a tank, even got a sunburn (oops!) and that today it is FREEZING! We actually covered all our new plants with plastic just in case. I would literally cry if they died and all our hard work would go to waste.

After all that, we took two of our nephews to a movie. It was fun, and an excuse to go see a children's movie!

Femme Fatale Necklace by Stella & Dot. Love love love!!!

Comfy look for the movies. Rider boots by Payless, thick stretchy leggings by Apt 9 at Kohl's, flowy tank from TJ Maxx and my awesome Micheal Kors sweater steal from TJ Maxx. Love! Also, wet hair in a side braid. Ha! Rockin' it!

Too cute with their 3D glasses on!

And lastly, after my spin class I went for an overdue massage. The hubs got me a gift card for a massage at the salon I get my hair cut at and I finally used it! It has been, literally, almost a year ago when he gave it to me. Victoria's Secret velour sweats are the best. And again, the top knot! Oh man, I gotta get a new look. :)

After running a million and one errands today, I made my way to Target to check out the new collection by Kate Young that I mentioned before. Verdict: Cute! I didn't have time to try anything on, but I did check it all out, and so should you!

Just heard Suspect 2 has been captured and taken to a nearby hospital. Thank goodness. I am going to sit on my couch with the hubs and our dog children and count my blessings.

[VICTORIA'S] SECRET SANTA

Hey Hey!! So, being the fanatic holiday decorator that I am, it comes as no surprise that today I came across something (well, two things) that I could.not.pass.up. Plus, there are a couple things I forgot to share yesterday. Ch-ch-check it out!

Guess who these are for?!? Their stocking holders were white stars, but when I decided to take a random aisle at the grocery (never a good idea..) I felt it was fate. So stinkin' cute! Charlie and Winston love them! ;)

I have these glitter-fied clothes pins hanging from twine above one of our doorways to hold Holiday cards. The silver and white ones I bought at Michael's in the wedding stuff aisle and the smaller dark and light gold ones I made myself. Not hard at all and super cute! All the supplies came from Michael's and it is pretty straight forward: clothes pins, glue and glitter. Boom.

I have two of these green bows hanging from our double front doors. So pretty!! Also from Michael's, last year. Luckily, they are carrying them again and they also come in a few color choices.

Last Sunday I rocked one of my newest purchases via Target clearance (love). These bad boys were, drum roll please..... $11. I wore some skinny jeans with them. Tough and feminine, all at once!

This past weekend was nice and relaxing. Friday we went out to dinner and then had some drinks at my sister-in-law's house. Then, on Saturday we stayed in (I had to work Sunday) and watched three straight episodes of, "Storytellers". AH-mazing. Taylor Swift, Pink and Alicia Keys. I am a sucker for any live music. I get mesmerized. I also love hearing the back-stories on some of my favorite songs! I do have to say, Pink is a bad ass and I promptly went to Itunes and downloaded her new CD. SO GOOD. love!

What I wore Friday:

That morning I went to a Spinning class, which, by the way, is an awesome workout. I love it sooo much. And, it has been way kinder to my body than all the running I had been doing. My feet, ankles and knees don't hurt like they used to ever since I started incorporating spin into my workout regimen. The capris were a random find from TJ Maxx. I really like them for spinning, but the one time I tried to run in them they continued to fall down. ANNOYING. The zip-up, hooded, thumb hole jacket is from Gap. My sister, Holly, and I both got one during our Branson, MO vacay. This jacket is the bomb. I am obsessed and totally bummed that I didn't buy both colors. It looks like a Lululemon, which can be pretty darn expensive. I think ours were on sale for like $19 or something. Wayyy better than the $80-100 jackets at Lululemon!!!

Spin Class Outfit

Rocking my bunmaker again (told you it would become a go-to look) and some Stella & Dot jewels.

Forever21 cardigan, Target top, Lauren Conrad for Kohl's skinny jeans, and my beloved above-the-knee stilettos from Charlotte Russe, in tan. Love!

Stella&Dot
Contessa Jade Necklace

Today I hit up Victoria's Secret so I could use my Secret Rewards cards before they expired. And, as luck would have it, I found this cute tank on the clearance rack, and all the PINK Collegiate Collection was 40% off. I was able to use my cards and get an additional $10 off each item. Yay! I NEVER get anything above $10 off. It can be $10, $50 or $500. The other day I stopped in, but didn't purchase anything at that time, and heard the workers there talking about how earlier that day a girl redeemed a $500 card!!!! They were all freaking out about it (as would I!).

This is one of those SUPER slouchy tanks. I had to do some strategic placing of it before I snapped this pic. Ha! I figure I will wear it with one of those solid colored cropped bustier/bra looking things. I have one in solid black and one in leopard from Charlotte Russe. I'll share pics later this week. I like that this can either be dressed down or up. I'll have to play around with it and see. (sale $16-$10= SIX BUCKS)

SEQUINS! :)

Collegiate sweat shirt top, and some "boyfriend" sweats. Love! Without the 40% off and $10 reward card, not sure I would have gotten the pants. It is just hard sometimes to pay what these originally cost. They are cute and all, but they are sweatpants for crying out loud! These ones at least have a decent thickness to them. For the deal I got, I'm lovin' em!!

I totally lucked out that both my "teams" are the "Cardinals", and obviously both are Red. :)

Have a great week ahead!! Christmas is almost here!!!

HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS

Hey Hey! How was every one's weekend? We traveled, again, for my family's annual pre-xmas trip to good 'ol Branson, MO. It is one of my most favorite trips. We do the exact same thing every time, but I love it! Here's some fashion pics from the weekend.

Travel Day #1

Shopping Day #1

Shopping Day #2

Boots for Both Shopping Days

Branson, MO is basically Christmas on crack. And I.love.it. There is tons of shops and tons of entertainment. We never go to any of the shows or anything, although I wouldn't mind to some day. We like to just hit up all the outlets and little shops. And the guys (dad, brother, hubs) like to hit up the pubs. Ha! It is relaxing and fun. This year we did spice it up a bit, though, and did the, "Polar Express" which is the scenic train of Branson. It was the cutest thing in the world. We all got a commemorative mug with endless hot chocolate and sugar cookies, Santa and Mrs. Clause gave each child a bell (like the book/movie), a man hole punched our tickets, the homeless train hopper guy was there, and there was singing. Like I said, too cute!!

Before we left for Branson, I got out all of our Christmas decorations. Our house is now a winter wonderland! ha! The only thing we haven't done yet is to hang our lights on our house, but clearly that one is not my job. I'll have some pics later this week to share. Oh, and you know I hit up Home Goods and Michael's for a few new holiday, "pieces". Can't help myself!

Happy Monday! riiiight.....
