SATURDAY STYLE

Lately I have been loving on simplistic looks with an edge to them. I know my fur vests may not be considered, "simplistic", but in actuality they are! To me a fur vest or a leather jacket are staple pieces that go with anything. At first they might seem out of your comfort zone, but once you get used to it you will realize how versatile and casual they actually can be!

Here are a couple Polyvore creations of mine with my latest inspirations: effortless edge and  comfortably chic!

My dream flare leg jeans to complete this look are by Paige Denim and come in at around $200. The pair in this set are from Windsor and are $29... get my drift? I'm sure the Paige Denim ones are FAB-ulous, but I seem to fall in and out of love with my jeans rather quickly and want the freedom to swap out without feeling the dent in my wallet. 

Anyways, today the hubs and I hit the movie theater and effortless and comfortably chic was my inspiration.

See! A fur vest can be worn for any occasion, big or small! It just depends on what you pair it with!

MORE FALL FASHION FAVS

I cannot get enough of faux fur, particularly vests. They are so chic, can go with virtually anything and add an instant pop of style. Whether you are wearing leather ankle pants with heels or flared jeans with boots, these are a go to item for sure!

Another fabulous trend is the leather skirt and the mesh panel skirt. Can't get enough! The paneled look can get a little risqué, so be wise when choosing your style ;)

THOUGHTS OF THURSDAY

Ready for the weekend? I am! And don't forget that tomorrow is the opening of Gilt, the discount designer website turned pop up store that I mentioned yesterday. Not sure when I will be stopping by, but I'll be sure to tell everyone all about it. I really just want to see how good the deals are. Not going with any sort of game plan or intent to get anything in particular. But, we shall see!

FAB FRIDAYS

Well, this has been a rainy, gloomy day for sure. Got in another dose of Power Hour at the gym today and it was fabulous, aka I now have noodle legs. Feel.the.burn. Since I now know what Power Hour class is all about, I made sure to eat a hearty breakfast. Annnnd you guessed it: OATS!

After Power Hour I hit up the grocery because our pantry was looking a little empty. Amongst many other things, I snagged up some fruit. I swear my collapsable/expandable colander is probably one of the greatest inventions! Love it. 

Earlier this afternoon I munched on some microwave eggs. One egg, two egg whites, feta, milk, microwave, boom. Topped with salsa and pepper and there you have it.

WEDNESDAY WOW

Wow, I am so excited! The hubs kindly pointed out to me a milestone today: 10,000 hits on the blog! I know it is not a lot compared to some of the blogs I follow, but man am I excited! Gotta start somewhere, right?!

The other night the hubs and I grilled out. Common trend around here these days. We just love it and could literally grill out everyday.

FAB FRIDAYS

Happy Friday! And let the holiday weekend commence with some Polyvore love!

Now that I got the Polyvore out of my system, first things first. A new love and an old favorite, breakfast style. Special K Chocolatey Strawberry with extra fresh strawberries added in, mmm, and non-overnight oats. For the non-overnight style I zap oats, water, stevia and cinnamon in the microwave for about 50 seconds and then added fresh fruit and some Sun Butter . 

This morning I went to a new (to me) class at my gym called, Power Hour, and it was as you would expect: an hour of sweaty ass kicking. It was great! Of course when I told the hubs where I was going he asked why I was boozing so early in the morning (did any of you play that game, Power Hour, in college..) and it took me a minute to get the joke. And then I promptly felt like such an old person because it has been a very long time since I have even thought about that game. Oh the good old days..... 

Workout attire: long sleeve tee from Forever21 and workout pants from Kohl's. Love! Looks like Charlie and Winston wanted to be in the blog today! They always find a way to sneakily make an appearance in my selfies.

And these two deer where trying to cross the road (a very busy one, by the way..) when I was  at a red light heading to my gym. So pretty! I hope they made it back where they came from safely...

So I kicked my weekend off yesterday (oh yeah!) with a little get together at one of my friends' for some mexican food. Yum! Here's my look.

FOUND THE ONE

So I have found my Derby dress! Well, I am waiting for it to arrive so I can try it on, but I think this is going to be the one! I found it at Charlotte Russe online. Not sure if I am going to wear heels or wedges and if they are going to be black or red. Geeze, options! With red nails and a red fascinator, I will more than likely go with black, but we will see!

MADNESS OF MARCH

Who's watching basketball this weekend!?! So excited for UofL's big game tonight! I am definitely rocking some red and black tonight: nails, shoes and shirt. Decided against my red lips because I thought that might be a little overwhelming! ha! Yesterday the hubs and I hit up Earth Fare just to get some protein to go with dinner. We opted for these yummy chicken rolls. Mine was stuffed with spinach and feta, the hubs' had apple and cherry chunks. We got a couple other things too and since our total was over $10, we got two free pineapples!! Pretty sweet, huh?!
