FOOD NOT FASHION

For Super Bowl Sunday I wanted to give this recipe a try and it was delicious: Cheez-it Chicken Tenders! I looked up many recipes on Pinterest and decided to make the easiest version I could find.

Perdue sells these awesome breast tenderloins so you don't have to cut up a breast into strips. SO easy! I used two packages of the tenderloins, two whole eggs, two cups crushed Cheez-its and one cup of cheddar cheese. I don't think I crushed the Cheez-its enough and ended up adding a handful more at the end.

Mix Cheez-its and cheddar cheese together in bowl or large ziplock bag. Dunk tenders in egg and then roll in bowl or shake in bag. Place on cookie sheet and cook at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes! Viola!

Next time I am going to try a Cheez-it flavor other than traditional just to spice things up. Cheez-its may not be the healthiest thing in the world but this is definitely a healthier take on an otherwise very unhealthy meal!

NEW ADVENTURE

Friday night I went to dinner with some of my work ladies and it was a bittersweet night. After almost 6 years, I am leaving to pursue what I would describe as one of my dream jobs as a nurse. The job I am leaving was also my dream job those several years ago so it would be very accurate to say that I have been beyond blessed with the opportunities I have had. Most people probably never get to pursue their ideal job, let alone twice! So sad to be leaving, but also very excited for my new adventure. Now if I can only get a dream job for the other half of who I am: Fashion!!

My first thought for my outfit last night was this fab motto vest and sweater from Forever 21 and bad ass heels from Charlotte Russe. But of course, at the last minute I changed my mind. Hashtag Fashion Addict Problems. This particular vest is not available last time I checked but Forever 21 has many many vests that are very similar to this one.

So then I opted for a fab sparkly top snagged off Target clearance and cropped trousers from Kohl's (trousers no longer available). I did switch up the shoes as well at the last minute because it is so dang cold here! I needed heels that had side and toe coverage, and unfortunately my original choice was not gonna cut it! And, I was not about to take off my close and refold them just for a new pic with the shoes I actually wore. Sorry, deal with it. ;)

Stella & Dot- Somervell Necklace
Target,Mossimo- Sequin Top
Charlotte Russe- Studded T-Strap Heel

Topped it all off with my long black coat and Stella & Dot jewels. The link for the sequin top does not reflect the in-store clearance price that I got so if you want to snag one on the cheap you need to hit up your local Target and pray to the clearance gods that it is still there! Also, this top is a comfort fit, not form fitting. I purchased a small and it is very loose and comfortable.

Charlotte Russe- Nubuck Almond Toe Platform Pump

After dinner with my fab work ladies, I met up with one of my best friends for some drinks and catch up. Annnnnnd this happened.... YUM! We both love Bloody Marys and Drake's make a delicious one! Never disappoints.

Does anyone recommend a specific wrap to hold my curlers back? This is a swim suit cover up wrap and I would really like to get something that is made for the purpose I need it for. Ha! Hey, gotta be resourceful! I like to put in my curlers, apply my makeup and then finish off my hair. That routine seems to work best for me and I gotta get those curlers outta my face!

Breakfast this morning was fresh and delicious: 1 cup cottage cheese and a diced up orange. Simple, healthy, quick and yummy!

Well, gotta get back to doing nothing on this snowy day!

Anyone going to watch the Grammy's tonight? Hopefully I can convince the hubs! Wish me luck!

***Correction:  just realized (enter sad face) that the Grammy's are not on tonight. Whoops!***

FAB FIND

Happy hump day! Is everyone staying warm this chilly day?! When is summer going to get here, I can't take it anymore! Even my little doggies do not want to go outside. Ugh.

I came across this fabulous crop top/long pencil skirt combo at Target and I could.not.resist. Target keeps upping the anti every day and I am OB-sessed with this outfit!! Go in for contact solution and come out with a new outfit. Target wins every time.

Cropped Sequin Top
Sequin Skirt

Now for more fashion, does any one else think that Lupita Nyong'o is as flawless as it gets so far this awards season?! It doesn't take a fashion lover to see that she is nailing it!

Another thing I love: embracing the bump! I don't think anything is more beautiful than a woman showing it off rather than hiding it! Love!

From fashion to food, here is some eats from the week:

Two whole eggs, two egg whites, sprinkle of shredded cheese and pepper topped with salsa and a side of cottage cheese. Mmmm

Romaine lettuce, shredded turkey, shredded cheese, pepperoncini and sweet vinegar & olive oil dressing.

Gotta love Luna Bars. They are all so delish!

Don't forget, Peter Pilotto for Target starts February 9th!! Refresh your memory here.

S&D SPRING SNEAK

Exciting news! Stella & Dot released a sneak peak of the upcoming Spring 2014 collection! I can honestly say that the entire collection is one of my favorites yet! I'm not sure how they continue to come up with fresh ideas and they nailed it, again!

Leave a message below in the comments section or message the blog's Facebook page if you are interested in a Look Book! I will also be linking a digital copy of it on January 13th but, in my opinion, it is much more enjoyable to actually hold a copy of it in my hands and see the book and pictures in person.

I really believe the online parties are so convenient and it gives me the ability to care for customers living anywhere, not just my town! If you would be interested in an online party, please message me and I can give you all the details and options you would have for your party.

Moving on- today the hubs and I have plans to be productive. Neither of us have been feeling very well and I think that today I just need to get over it. Ha! I swear I thought I was getting tonsillitis, which I have had once before, again. It was back in college when the hubs and I first started dating and was the worst illness I have ever had in my life. It was so awful that I could barely eat for an entire week and the first thing I did eat, painfully, was spinach dip from TGIF. Yes, I'm scarred and yes, I remember what my, "first meal", was. It was that bad. I digress...

This AM was a peanut butter-apple-cinnamon-hot oats kind of morning. Paired with some throat soothing coffee.

I've given this recipe before but I'll refresh every one's memory: 1 cup oats, 1 packet Stevia, 1 TBSP peanut butter (or any nut butter of choice), 1 TBSP cinnamon, 1/2 of or a whole diced apple and some water. Microwave for 45 sec, stir, and then microwave for another 45 sec. Viola! I don't actually measure anything but the oats so these are estimates and can definitely be tweaked to your liking.

And this gem for part of my dinner last night.

-spinach, parmesan, shredded turkey, artichoke, black olives, pimentos, purple onion and a sweet oil and vinegar dressing. DE-lish!

Ok, time to go be productive!!

P.S. Don't forget to message me for Stella & Dot details!

LATELY

Happy Saturday!! We are heading to a football game, with some tailgating of course, and I am going to FREEZE my butt off! Oh well, it will be fun!

Here are some looks from the past week or so. Slacked on my blogging this past week so here it all is!

Target flannel, AH-mazing Forever 21 faux fur vest, Apt 9 leggings and Payless rider boots. I am a deal seeker for sure, and this is the epitome of that, head to toe!

Stella & Dot goodies...

One of my coworkers got married last weekend and I rocked this sequin Forever 21 number.  You might recognize this dress from a post I did a while back ;) It is so beautiful! Paired with my gorg Petra Braided Bracelet by Stella & Dot. This bracelet is the first thing from Stella & Dot I ever owned, gifted to me by my mom. It is extremely beautiful and is definitely a scene stealer. Unfortunately, it is currently sold out! I guess everyone wanted one for the holidays!! I'm sure they will get it back in stock soon!

This coat was a steal I got at a Michael Kors outlet. It is a staple piece for any woman's wardrobe: The Long Black Coat. Anything by Michael Kors is fabulous, especially when you get it for next to nothing!

Purse by Apt 9 for Kohl's and the heels are LC by Lauren Conrad for Kohl's. Her line is so amazing and she hits the comfortable chic concept right on the nose. Jeans by Charlotte Russe, my go to for denim. They offer every style and wash possible, in multiple lengths and for killer deals.

More Stella & Dot fabulousness

Now on to some eats! Salad with shredded turkey, sweet potato and broccoli and cauliflower.

Eggs, Ezekiel Bread and an apple. Mmmm...

Salad with shredded turkeyronis, sweet potato and broccoli and cauliflower medley.

This one is a bit of a carb load, but it was mmm mmm good. Pancakes, Ezekiel Bread with local honey and some eggs.

And lastly, spinach, banana peppers, feta, almond slivers, purple onion and shredded turkeyronis. Yum

If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw this pic. We thought our birds were just very hungry. Well, turns out we have a squirrel eating all the food! Grrr.... The birds are definitely enjoying it too, but I have a feeling he is eating a lot of it!

Have a great Saturday!!
