PRABAL GURUNG STEAL

One thing I am always in search of is a good deal. Even when famous designers collaborate with affordable stores, the price point still might not be where you want it. Enter exhibit A: this amazing silky button down by Prabal Gurung for Target was snatched up by yours truly after his collaboration had been in the store for a couple weeks and things were starting to find their way to the clearance section. I scored it for a fraction of the cost and that made the deal much sweeter. Obviously this tactic does not always work, and I was fortunate to find not only the top I wanted on clearance, but the size I needed. Nonetheless, it worked out for me and had it not, I would have just deemed it not meant to be.

So classy, comfortable and fun! Paired with my most favorite brand of faux leather pants, Rock & Republic for Kohl's and Charlotte Russe black platforms. Ugh, love! And of course, the jewelry. Who could forget the JEWELRY! Stella & Dot's Sumervell Necklace is seriously all you need in life. Seriously! It comes in four different versions, but this classic one totally stole my attention when it was first released. OB-sessed!

Thankfully at the last minute I tossed on a faux fur vest. It is starting to get chilly at night these days! Last year I zeroed in on a want need of mine and that was more faux fur vests in a variety of colors. This beauty was one of my selections from Forever 21 and is definitely a staple item that will be with me for years to come. And for the price (under $50) I was able to realistically get more than one. I get so many compliments any time I wear one of my fur vests! I know faux fur can seem a little scary at first for some, but once you wear it a few times and get comfortable with the look you will realize they really are great pieces to have in your closet. Mark my words: you WILL get a compliment ;)

FULL FIGURED FASHION

Kohl's is continually stepping their game up and they have just added a couple more reasons to love them. One of my beloved lines there, Rock & Republic, has added extended sizes! From 0X-3X and 16W-24W, there is something for everyone! And, I recently spotted that they will now be carrying Juicy Couture! Don't worry, they will be stocking more than just the old JC sweat suit... from jewelry to bedding to shoes and perfume... you name it!

Speaking of extended sizes, did you know that my beloved Forever 21 has a plus size line and has had it for a very long time? Yup, they sure do! Even more reason to take advantage of their prices and fashion forward designs!

Here are just a few examples of some of the kick ass pieces they have. The Forever 21 by my house is H-U-G-E and has everything from Men's to kids to plus sizes. And they are all divided up into different sections of the store making your shopping very streamlined. Now, once you get into said section it is every man for themselves! ha!

All my full figured and curvy women need to check this out if you were not already aware. Can't say enough great things about Forever 21. Yes, eye roll if you wish, I don't care.

The ombre is here! I am LOVING it! Actually, a little addicted to it. I can't wait until my next appointment for touch ups....in 8-10 wks... lol. Lucky for me, this dye job is extremely low maintenance! 

To debut my new look, the hubs and I went to a beerfest at an airplane hanger! It was pretty neat.

Wearing dark lipstick to a beer festival was probably not one of my wisest decisions...

FAUX FUR FRIDAY

Here's to the weekend! I spent my Friday morning taking down decorations, the afternoon with some lovely ladies from work followed by a relaxing night on the couch with the hubs. Both of us are under the weather and hanging at home seemed like our idea of a perfect Friday night. Don't judge! The doggies were definitely happy with the decision- they greatly dislike being left alone at the house!

I hate taking down our Christmas cards. It just makes it official that the holidays are over. Boo.

For late lunch/early dinner (Linner?) with my work girls, I went for some faux fur. It is COLD here in good 'ol Louisville so it just felt appropriate.

Lightly seasoned popcorn with mini dark chocolate chips on top. Wow, this combo is pretty damn good! Just make sure the chips are added immediately once you place the popcorn in your bowl. They become nice and gooey! Mmm, mmmm.

GREAT inVESTment

Some fashion flash backs from the past week/weekend. And of course, some fur vests made an appearance. I just love them  :)

This amazing faux fur vest from Forever 21 is THE coziest thing ever. Such great quality and such an amazing price!! The cheetah print top is also from Forever 21. Go figure!

I know some people think that jean vests are so out, but that could not be further from the truth. Paired over a sweater or topped over a sun dress, this oldie but goodie is still hanging around. I snagged this studded number at Kohl's. It is by Rock & Republic and was on a summer clearance rack. Score!

The flash was accidental, but it actually show cased some of the contouring that I had done on my face that night, so I thought it would be neat to show. More on that topic to come.

And no outfit would be complete without some Stella & Dot jewels!!

FALL, FOOD & FASHION

Here is a sneak peak at what only can be described as a problem...  I can't wait for the holidays and if bypassing September is necessary, then so be it! 

More to come later.... moving on to some eats!

Vanilla flavored Greek yogurt, sprinkle of cinnamon, sprinkle of pumpkin spice and fruit medley mash up! So freakin' good!! Oikos makes THE best vanilla Greek yogurt!

I have to give this another blog shout out and if you also follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook then you saw this beauty the other day. It is SO good! Really spicy and not as, "pumpkin-y" as you might think. Scored this at Earth Fare and I may need to stock up on some more before it is gone!

Fabulous zucchini and squash foil wrap ups cooked on the grill. Dice both then add some olive oil, sea salt, coarse ground pepper and a bit of garlic salt. Mmmm....

Pair that with some seasoned grilled cedar plank salmon! The hubs mastered one of his flavor blasted concoctions and I'm not even sure what is on there! The cedar planks are sold at our local grocery near the charcoal and is totally worth getting if you are cooking salmon at home! 

Mmm... I'm sure you knew this was coming. There are so many more pumpkin beers I want to try! Better hurry up and drink the ones I have, ha!
