I'M BACK!

It's been a while since I've blogged, but I am back!

Oh Monday... After a fabulous weekend at home in St. Louis, we are back home and it feels good. Baby girl has been a traveling fool since being brought into this world, and this past weekend was our last travel weekend until my maternity leave is over (sigh). Part of me is excited to get back to work, and another part of me is completely devastated and dying for a winning lottery ticket! 

So, to drowned my sorrows, I'll do some Internet window shopping and share some current loves on the blog! But first, what has little Miss Cecilia been up to these days?

- She LOVES to smile and it is the sweetest thing ever; completely melts my heart!
- Tummy time is something she is a pro at. This little lady has some serious neck strength (has since day one) and enjoys pushing herself up and has even rolled over several times during tummy time!
- She loves her mobile above her crib and can go for quite a while just laying there and smiling and staring in amusement. 
- She is official 12 lbs 4 oz and growing by the second!
- Mommy is still her favorite person :)

MONDAY MUSING

Good morning! Well, that was a little too enthusiastic for the type of morning going on over here- RAIN! Rain in the forecast ALL WEEK- ugh. So, what better to do then some window shopping!? And here are my picks for the day! But first, I had my first official GNO (Girl's Night Out) on Saturday- that means no baby, and no hubby. And even though I missed both of them, it was really nice to get dressed up, get out of the house and to have some drinks! 

Some makeup magic, bright lips, sleeked back pony and bling bling studs can make any look complete! With a newborn, speed is key! So, I opted for the sleeked back pony: so easy and always looks polished. Baby girl was already off to her Aunt's at this point, but that in itself was time consuming to get all of her things together and then needing to pump since she wasn't with me! Luckily I have mastered multitasking.... ha!

The pic below was the one I originally was going to share and then I thought, ya know what, let's give a sneak peek of what was really going on! #reallife It doesn't mean you have to change everything about yourself or what you love, you just have to navigate things a little differently!

This crop top is one of my favs! It is from the Kohl's LC Lauren Conrad collection, comes in three different colors and is fairly long and boxy so you don't have to feel totally exposed. Staying active throughout my pregnancy DEFINITELY played a huge role in how well I have bounced back, but clearly, being just shy of four weeks postpartum, my stomach might be flat again but is not as, "tight", yet. So, my midi skirt (Target) and this style crop top were the perfect combo: I got to feel back to normal and a little edgy all while being comfortable. Win-Win!

And what better way to ring in my GNO? Champs!

So, to keep with the crop top vibe I've got join on, this one is amazing! Ok, I know it might seem a little risqué and may not lend for the most convenient of bras, but alas I am swooning!

Time to blog!

Ahhh it feels good to finally feel like I have my head on straight and get back to some things that make me happy- like blogging! Bringing home a baby is one of the most exciting and yet terrifying things and often times you feel as though you are doing it all wrong! Well, after two weeks with our little lady I feel confident in what I'm doing and I also feel like I know her so well and can truly predict her needs! 

So now to the fashion! I haven't perused Forever 21 in quite some time now, so OF COURSE my picks for today will be from there. I CANNOT stress it enough: Forever 21 is a wonderful store and LITERALLY has something for everyone. 99.9% of the time when I get a compliment on an article of clothing, it is from Forever 21 and people are always shocked. But why? What is so surprising about it? I guess it is hard to believe that one store could offer goods to women, plus size women, men and children. I guess it is hard to believe that one store could be SO affordable. I guess it is hard to believe that one store could have such cutting edge designs. I guess it is hard... ok you get the point: BELIEVE IT! And age limits?: no. Before you roll your eyes at me, open them! Forever 21 is what you make it. If you need a scandalous party dress for a bachelorette party, they've got it! If you need work pants and a button down long sleeve silk blouse, they've got it! Swimwear, activewear, underwear, lingerie, pajamas, jewelry, shoes, purses... oh my! All my cute dresses I wore throughout this pregnancy: Forever 21! I just ordered up a size and saved a crap load of money. Designated maternity clothes can be pricey!

So now on to the looks I am dying over today!

PREGNANCY STYLE FILE

At this moment I am a whopping 31 weeks pregnant and loving every second of it! I honestly  am having more fun dressing this bump then I imagined. I knew it would be fun, but man is it really fun! Let's see if I keep singing this tune as my pregnancy continues on at a roaring pace! 

Just some looks that I have rocked over the past few week:

Apparently I have a thing for Target flannels tied around my waist! If I'm not wearing a dress, I just feel most comfortable with something around my waist. Maybe it is the support, who knows! When you take almost daily selfies you start to pick up on tendencies, ha! 

These longline tanks are from Forever 21 and are AH-mazing. And since they are so long, they are perfect for growing a belly.

This dress was snagged up at Forever 21 probably three years ago. Anything in my closet that is stretchy is being tested to the limits with this bump. Happily, a lot of my current clothes have a lot of stretch to them and I honestly have not bought a single maternity item yet! 

This beautiful rose patterned dress is another Forever 21 find with stretch and was perfect for Easter Sunday! Topped off with some Stella & Dot jewelry, of course!

Kohl's top from a year or so back with a beautiful flowy bottom and silk tie. Love!

And lastly, this beautiful off the shoulder dress is also from Forever 21. I purchased this after I knew I was pregnant and just ordered up one size to accommodate. I knew I wanted it for either a baby shower or maternity photos. Who knows, maybe both! Love!

SWEATIN' IN STYLE

After a cabin weekend with friends full of unimaginable amounts of gloriously delicious food, it is time for this preggo to get back on track. And what better motivation than some bad ass work out gear! Forever 21 is on their game and have some really amazing looking athletic apparel that I have to share! 

I'm a sucker for a cool sports bra. If you are well endowed, these types of bras are not ideal for high impact exercise, such as running. But, for a class, elliptical or walking, why not look a little fashion forward! As my pregnancy is progressing, most of my sports bras are starting to get a little too tight and my workouts are incorporating less running and more walking, machines and leg work. So, these inexpensive and super cute Forever 21 sports bras are probably going to be on my list of pregnancy work out gear to buy.
