Saturday afternoon I ran some Stella & Dot errands before breaking into
I did do some contouring on my face as well, and here is a bit of a closer look. I used all the same products mentioned here.
On to the house projects! One that was completed today was our refurbish job on a dresser and mirror that needed some updating. We painted the dresser black using a, now bear with me, conversion varnish and/or catalyzed lacquer. Clearly, the hubs was in charge of finding the paint because I am clueless! This was a two component paint, meaning we had to mix two different things together in the can. It has a HORRIBLE, STRONG smell. We definitely made the mistake of painting the dresser portion IN our house. We had to open the windows, turn on fans, etc. Ugh. As for the mirror, I just painted that yesterday (did the dresser a week or so ago) and I am not going to lie, I taped it off and went for it with the appropriate type of black spray paint. If you have been keeping up with the blog then you know my love for spray paint and its convenience. Another reason I am fessing up to spraying the mirror is because one of my sisters, Holly, called me as I was doing it, "hey what are you doing", "spray painting a mirror, I mean painting it with my two component catalyzed lacquer....". riiiight. ha! Anyways, here is the before and after. You also may recognized this dresser from here :) Sorry, but I forgot to get a before of the dresser portion. I also failed to get a pic of the horrible faces that we were making while painting it.
Sweet tape-off job by yours truly |
It looks so amazing, and I. love. it. Nothing is better than taking an old, otherwise unwanted piece of furniture, and bringing it back to life with a bang! So chic. This is in one of our guest rooms and I can't wait for the next visitor to use it!
I hope you enjoyed this post! I am cutting it short because I have a Cardinals playoff game to watch and David Freese just got a home run!!! :) Oh, and did you catch their game on Friday?!?! Biggest comeback in playoff history baby! Never count the Cardinals out!
I will share our other house projects later this week!
Have a fabulous Sunday!
xoxo MaryBeth
